Weigh-ins
When do we weigh-in?
Round weigh-ins for the 2025 Make the New Year Magic Transformer - $6,000 in prizes! game are always on the 1st and 2nd of each month in Pacific Time (U.S.).
Initial weigh-ins must be submitted by January 14.
What are progress weigh-ins?
These weigh-ins are not affiliated with your games but rather your membership. If you are a DietBet member (paid the extra fee with your game or joined an annual membership), these optional weigh-ins can be submitted weekly from Thursday through Wednesday and enter you in the weekly prize drawing.
If you are not a member, these weigh-ins are not required and you would only weigh-in for round weigh-ins on the 1st and 2nd of each month in Pacific Time (U.S.).
What is the difference between round, progress, and unofficial weigh-ins?
Round weigh-ins are directly related to your game and are submitted on the 1st and 2nd of each month in Pacific Time (U.S.).
Progress weigh-ins qualify you for weekly prize drawings. These prizes change each week and all members who submit an approved progress weigh-in are eligible to win!
Unofficial weigh-ins are weigh-ins without photos. These weigh-ins are simply for your benefit and track your progress and how close you are to hitting your game goals.
I submitted a progress weigh-in. Does it count as my monthly weigh-in?
No. You need to submit a round weigh-in specifically for your game during the 1st and 2nd of each month. The progress weigh-in does not automatically count toward game progress.
If you had a progress weigh-in submitted and accepted on the first attempt in the last 48 hours, you may get a prompt to reuse that submission. Start the weigh-in process and tap through until the option comes up. If you are not prompted to reuse the progress weigh-in, you must weigh-in again.
How do I reuse a weigh-in?
After a weigh-in is approved by referees, you may reuse it within 48 hours of the original submission as long as you have not had a rejected weigh-in. Start the standard weigh-in process in your game and tap through until the option to reuse appears. If it does not appear, you must weigh-in again.
You should repeat this for each game within the specified weigh-in period for that game. For example, if your weigh-in period is the 1st and 2nd, you must reuse the weigh-in on the 1st or 2nd or weigh-in again at goal before the deadline to be eligible for winnings. It is important to verify a weigh-in has been applied to all intended games. This applies to Kickstarter, Transformer, and Maintainer games, as well as progress and round weigh-ins.
How long does it take for our photos to be reviewed by referees?
This time of year can be especially busy, so it takes a little longer than usual for us to verify submissions. Sorry for the wait! We always verify submissions in the order they are received and as quickly as we can! Review takes less than 12 hours but is usually much quicker. You'll always get a notification and email if a weigh-in is approved or rejected.
What if I didn't reach my goal?
If you haven't reached your goal, you are not required to weigh-in. If you do not submit your weight and/or miss your goal for rounds 1-4, you continue on for the rest of your game!
You just won't be able to win the missed round.
For Transformer games, the only mandatory weigh-ins are the initial, Round 5 and final weigh-in. For Round 5, you must have lost at least 6% of your initial weight and document this with a Round 5 weigh-in to continue on to the final round. You must lose at least 10% of your initial weight to win.
Prizes
What are the prizes and how do I win?
The following bonus prizes are specific to the 2025 Make the New Year Magic Transformer - $6,000 in prizes! game and entry in the drawings is included in your game entry fee:
- Round 1 - 2 winners of a Ninja Blender
- Round 2 - 1 winner of a Hydrow Rowing Machine
- Round 3 - 10 winners of an Insulated Water Bottle
- Round 4 - 2 winners of a SmartWatch (Apple or Garmin)
- Round 5 - 5 winners of a Massage Gun
- Round 6 - 1 winner of a $2000 Tinggly Gift Card
These prizes are chosen at the end of each round but do not require a weigh-in to qualify. The prizes will be announced via a game post on the Tuesday before the end of each round.
All active players (those who have not been disqualified) in the 2025 Make the New Year Magic Transformer - $6,000 in prizes! game are eligible for round prizes. These are awarded by the random selection of players regardless of progress to goal. Membership is not required to win the above prizes.
Any player (in any game) who is a DietBet member and has an approved weekly progress weigh-in is also entered into the weekly drawing for a progress prize. You can find more details here: Progress prizes and your membership.
Goals
What are the monthly weight loss goals?
Our Transformer games are designed to promote gradual, sustainable weight loss, so we set monthly weight loss targets for players to meet along the way to the big 10%. If you meet your Round goal and submit an official round weigh-in, you’ll win that round. Here are the benchmarks to hit (all percentages are relative to your initial, approved weigh-in):
Round 1: 3%
Round 2: 6%
Round 3: 8%
Round 4: 9%
Round 5: 10% (Note that this weigh-in is mandatory)
Round 6: 10%
Can I be disqualified for losing too much weight?
Yes. To promote gradual, sustainable weight loss, a disqualification threshold exists for each round of our Transformer games. If you lose 12% or more in a Transformer game, you will be disqualified for the remainder of the game. These thresholds are all relative to your initial weigh-in. To determine your disqualification weight loss threshold, multiply your approved initial weigh-in by the percentage:
Round 1 - 12%
Round 2 - 18%
Round 3 - 24%
Round 4 - 27%
Round 5 - 30%
Round 6 - 30%
Players are also disqualified for losing 12% or more in a single round.
Winnings
When/how will I get my winnings?
Each round starts the finalization process after the weigh-in window closes. It can take 24-48 hours for the round winnings to be announced in your game. In Transformer games, your winnings are accumulated and then distributed at the end of the game. This is outlined in our rules under the heading "Winning" > "Payouts": https://www.dietbet.com/transformer/rules.
How do the round winnings work?
Half of your pledge for each month goes into the Round's total, and the other half goes to Round 6. So, if your pledge is $35 per month, $17.50 goes into Round 1 (or 2, 3, 4, or 5) and $17.50 goes into Round 6. The total in the final round is the largest and has the highest winning potential.
All players who reach their goals for the round split the total for that round. If the game has 200 players, and 100 of them make their goal, those 100 players split the total for the round. You have the opportunity to win your share of the total in every round, 1 through 6.
Only players who have lost at least 6% of their weight by Round 5 will be eligible to play round 6.
