WayBetter is designed to help you stay accountable to your healthy lifestyle goals. A key part of the accountability process is celebrating your accomplishments as they occur by submitting documentation through the app.
This means opening WayBetter to sync your walks or runs when they end, submitting a selfie after completing your workout routine, and logging your calorie counter screenshots following your last meal or snack of the day, etc. While we hope you stick around afterward to cheer on your fellow players, ask questions, or share helpful tips, the minimum expectation is to complete and submit your activities on the same day.
However, you may have noticed the term one-time exception floating around in some of our WayBetter games, usually with an encouragement to email support@waybetter.com to determine if you are eligible.
One-time exceptions 101
If you failed to upload to your photo-based games but otherwise documented your progress for that game, we are happy to help you with a one-time exception. We'll also share our game rules to make it easier for you to succeed going forward!
For example, if you took a picture of your veggie-laden salad on Tuesday (yum!) but let midnight slip by without submitting it, email us. We can take care of your log as an exception.
An upload courtesy is only offered once, and acceptance of this exception indicates an acknowledgment of this rule.
For games ending soon, we must receive requests and the submission itself before the game ends. After a game finalizes, documentation cannot be applied to the game. With an ongoing game, all requests for assistance should include the game entry, and if it is not included, a 24-hour deadline will be provided.
Repeatedly requesting such exceptions is not in the spirit of fair play and can disrupt the balance and integrity of the games for other players.
After receiving an exception, repeated attempts to acquire additional courtesies could result in account limitations, so please use your one-time exception after carefully considering your game progress.
Exceptions and different game types
Upload exceptions are limited to photo-based games.
Step syncing challenges automatically sync for prior days through the end of each week. Steps on the last day should be synced immediately after reaching your goal.
Activity syncing games, such as cardio or running challenges, provide a built-in 24-hour grace period.
