If your account has been flagged for unusual weight loss activity or if you are playing in a game with a pledge over $100, you will be required to submit a video weigh-in. Note that all of our standard weigh-in rules apply to video weigh-ins as well:
- lightweight clothing (no hats, accessories, etc.)
- scale must be on a solid surface (no carpet)
- weigh-in word must be clearly visible
If you have a friend to help film your video weigh-in:
Your video should begin with a full shot of you standing near the scale with your full body (head to toe) and full face clearly visible, then zoom into the scale to show that it's at zero. You can then step onto the scale and show your weight as it registers, making sure the paper with your weigh-in word is also clearly visible. Finish the video by showing us yourself again so we know that it was you on that scale!
If you do not have someone to assist in recording your video:
You can use a full-length mirror. We will need to see you step on the scale in the mirror and your weight register on the scale. You can see a sample video weigh-in with a mirror here.
To record the video without a mirror, first start by showing us that your scale is at zero. Then place the phone/camera on a stable surface in front of your scale. We will need to see you walk to the scale and step on. After a moment or two step off the scale to retrieve the camera and walk it back to the scale with you, recording the entire time. This is when you will capture the scale readout and your weigh in word. If your scale flashes while calculating please be sure to keep recording until the number is solid.
Please keep an eye on your email to make sure your video weigh-in was approved. If your video weigh-in is rejected, you will have 12 hours to resubmit a new video. If you do not resubmit in time, you will be disqualified from the game without a refund.
*Referees may require additional verification steps. Failure to complete these steps within the given deadline will result in disqualification without a refund.
If you have any questions, please email our referees at support@waybetter.com.
